I pitched and led the design of a dynamic sales tool for Angi’s Inside Sales team. The goal was to help reps navigate 200+ daily cold calls with real-time script suggestions that adapt based on live conversations. The tool also captured rep and client responses, giving managers a new stream of data to inform coaching and sales strategy.
My Approach
1. Interviewed sales reps and managers to map out pain points across the cold call workflow.
2. Prototyped a lightweight tool that surfaces the right prompts at the right time during live calls.
3. Designed a manager-facing view to capture and analyze rep responses and objection patterns.
4. Deployed, tested and iterated the tool across pilot teams until it felt seamless in a high-speed call environment.
Outcome
The tool (internally dubbed Amalgam) reduced average ramp time for new reps by 23%, increased close rates by 14%, average deal size went from $5,000 to $8,400, and gave managers visibility into 100% of live objection handling. What started as a prototype became core to how teams trained, coached, and closed deals.
